Voyage Through Donner Lagoon

On July 29th, 2006 XXIX, the magnificent Molossian Navy launched a voyage of exploration through Donner Lagoon. This expedition was intended to serve as a voyage of discovery for our Navy and it was a complete success. Its focus was Donner Lagoon, which is an arm of beautiful Donner Lake in California. Donner Lake lies about 80 Imperial Nortons (80 km / 50 mi) from the Molossian Home Territory, high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Navy explored the entire Lagoon over a three-hour period, including two stops on 5 MPH Island, an islet in the channel leading from Donner Lagoon out to Donner Lake. The expedition was a resounding success, a feather in the cap of our Navy and our nation.

New Cannon.

The Molossian Government is proud to announce the unveiling of our new cannon, Emperor Norton II. This cannon is intended to replace our older cannon, Emperor Norton I, and is larger than that cannon. It is of course a "Quaker Gun", made of wood and for decoration only. It stands beside the flagpole in front of Republic Square, which is itself in front of Government House. Emperor Norton II enhances the overall look of Republic Square and is a picturesque compliment to the overall area in front of Government House.

FHM Interview.

His Excellency, The President was interviewed on July 31st for FHM Magazine, as part of the publicity campaign for the soon-to-be-released Lonely Planet Guide to Micronations. The interview took place over the telephone and is scheduled to appear in the October 2006 XXIX issue of the magazine. FHM, an abbreviation for For Him Magazine, is a monthly men's magazine that relies heavily on the appeal of photographs of scantily-clad women. Like similar magazines such as Maxim, its large quantity of surveys, humor, dramatic tales and informed reviews of everything from movies to remote controlled blimps has created a readership that ostensibly "read it for the articles". We are all of course looking forward to seeing His Excellency, and our nation's, name in print.
