2010 New Year's Speech

New Year's Speech

Given by His Excellency, President Kevin Baugh
February 14th, 2010 XXXIII

My Fellow Molossians, Greetings.

Today begins a New Year, and a new direction for our nation. The past two years have been marked by a certain national sadness since the departure of the former First Lady. Since this last autumn, the mood in Molossia has changed for the better, with the advent of the new First Lady and the addition of her family to the population of our Molossia. The struggles that we have borne as a nation have given fruit to a new era, one of happiness, energy and excitement.

As I promised last year, we have indeed continued to push forward. Molossia and Molossians have a core of steel that defines them and gives them strength in tough times. This served us well in the first half of 2009, as our trials and tribulations continued from the previous year. In spite of these trials, we perservered, and did great things. Our nation's name was again broadcast in no less than three different video productions, and Molossia shown like a bright coin in each of these. Molossia continues to shine as a beacon to the small nations of the world and an inspiration to many, a mantle that we wear with both pride and humility.

This coming year will undoubtably bring challenges but we will meet these challenges as we face all of our national trials, with mettle and optimism. Molossia is a strong nation, stronger now than ever before. In adversity there are lessons to be learned and new sources of will that are discovered. It is from these merits that we draw our strength of character, a force that carries us into the New Year as a mighty nation. For indeed we are mighty. Molossia continues to demonstrate its energy, imagination and personality to the world, and we continue to set the standard by which other nations are measured. We have so very much of which to be proud, and it is all through our combined hard work and enthusiasm.

Thus, as we step boldly into this New Year, we do so with confidence and zeal. Our nation continues as an extraordinary place, a bright spot on the earth and a land of hope and promise. As always, I pledge to lead you into the future and stand shoulder to shoulder with you as we continue to make Molossia the greatest nation on earth.

God Bless You,
Long Live Molossia!
